They're doing something great!
Check out the Do Something! Award. Since 1996, DoSomething.org has honored the nation’s best young world-changers, 25 and under. Do Something Award nominees and winners represent the pivotal "do-ers" in their field, cause, or issue. In 2011 the five nominees will be rewarded with a community grant, media coverage and continued support from DoSomething.org. The grand prize winner will receive $100,000 during the live broadcast. The Youth Advocates of the Year Awards, sponsored by the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, honor the outstanding work of young advocates who have taken the lead in holding the tobacco industry accountable for their efforts to market their products to youth. It is time to start recruiting nominations for the 2011 Youth Advocate of the Year Awards. Winners will be recognized at our annual gala on May 18, 2011 in Washington, DC |
Winners are chosen based on their advocacy experience, their demonstration of initiative and creativity, and the effectiveness of their efforts to prevent youth from smoking, among other qualities. Youth Advocate of the Year Award winners are given the opportunity to be part of the Campaign's efforts throughout the year. Winners gain leadership experience that helps strengthen their advocacy skills and empower their peers to join the movement against the tobacco industry
Nomination forms must be postmarked by Friday, January 21, 2011. Winners will be notified of a decision by Friday, March 1, 2011.
